At Shop Around, we want you to love what you ordered. If you’re not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.

Our returns and refund policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have passed since the date of delivery, unfortunately we cannot offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be unused and in the same condition you received it.

  • It must be in its original packaging.

  • A valid proof of purchase or receipt is required.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Perishable goods (e.g. food, flowers, newspapers, magazines)

  • Intimate or sanitary goods (e.g. opened beauty tools, used hairbrushes)

  • Hazardous materials or flammable liquids/gases

  • Downloadable software or digital products

  • Gift cards or vouchers

  • Certain health and personal care items (due to hygiene regulations)

Additional non-returnable items:
     • Gift cards
     • Downloadable software products
     • Some health and personal care items

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Partial Refunds (If Applicable)

Partial refunds may be granted in the following cases:

  • Books showing obvious signs of use

  • CDs, DVDs, software, or vinyl records that have been opened

  • Items not in original condition, damaged, or missing parts (not due to our error)

  • Items returned more than 30 days after delivery

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, you will be notified via email whether your refund has been approved or declined.

  • If your refund is approved: Your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 3–7 business days.
  • If your refund is declined: We will provide a clear reason for the decision via email. The item will be returned to you at your request, or you may choose to collect it from our physical address. Return shipping for declined items will be at your own expense unless the item was rejected in error.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

  1. Check your bank account again.

  2. Contact your credit card provider (processing times may vary).

  3. Contact your bank (delays may occur before posting a refund).

If you’ve done all of this and still haven’t received your refund, contact us at support@shop-around.co.za.

Sale items

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items are final and cannot be refunded unless defective.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged.

To request an exchange:

  • Contact us at support@shop-around.co.za.

  • If approved, return the item to:

You may be responsible for:

  • Shipping fees for the return and replacement

  • Any price difference between the items

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you:

  • You will receive a gift credit for the value of your return.

  • Once received and approved, we will issue a gift certificate.

If the item was not marked as a gift, or was shipped to the gift giver, we will send the refund to the gift giver.

Shipping returns

You are responsible for covering the return shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

For your protection, we recommend:

  • Using a trackable shipping service

  • Purchasing shipping insurance for high-value items

We do not guarantee receipt of returned items without tracking.
